Smooth and malty. The nose is smooth and gentle with nut oils, hazelnut and barley, cereal sweetness and a little peat.
The palate is of good body with honeyed sweetness and malt. The finish is short with oaked dryness. The legal stuff: not providing your contact details may mean we have to delete your comments if another member of our community complains about them.

Will soon be purchasing another bottle. Kilbeggan single grain picked some up from the distillery on a motorcycle trip to Ireland it's very smooth and i will be buying more.
I usually review Scotch on here but after a recent trip to Ireland I've been doing my best to try as much of their fine whiskey as possible. This is one I actually tried at a hotel in Dublin and it was good enough to make me want to visit the distillery.
Very smooth and yet a bit sweeter and more full flavored than a lot of other Irish whiskeys at this price point which I attribute to the double distillation used here instead of the triple which is typical with Irish whiskey.
Excellent stuff I guess I will need to go back when there isn't a pandemic so I can actually take a look around inside the distillery the outside is quite beautiful though.
Great value and a unique whiskey for sure. The Sugarbear. Usually, due to Irish Whiskeys being less complex than Scotch, you find well-balanced, pleasant, friendly flavours.
With Killbeggan, I get sharp ethanol with little flavours really standing out over it. If you're going Irish, Jameson is a much better budget option, or try your hand with more complex flavours in the Bushmills range.
When I first tasted Killbegin Each flavour separate yet combined to give a wholly individual tasting whiskey A great find for a life long whiskey drinker to discover - Killbegin has a new follower.
Vanilla and smooth sweet caramel. Double distilled goodness. Other reviewers are correct, the smell is harsh, but if taste is more important to you than smell, you can't go wrong here.
The taste is very smooth and the aftertaste is pleasant. A lovely Irish whiskey, quite soft and smooth both on the nose and on the palette.
Extremely good quality for it's quite affordable price. Nose: Sponge cake, apricot, icing sugar. Palate: Buttery at first, before biscuit sweetness and a hint of nutmeg spiciness appears.
Finish: Fizzy oak, lime peel and vanilla. The legal stuff: not providing your contact details may mean we have to delete your comments if another member of our community complains about them.

By the s, the distillery had become outdated and dilapidated. It came into the ownership of the Locke family, who were to hold it for more than a century.
A stubborn insistence on sticking with more laborious pot still whiskey, despite the great advances made in blending whiskeys with Coffey stills, lost market share to their less expensive Scotch competitors.
The Locke family did manage to stay in the game longer than the majority of the distilleries, which were forced to close, notably through the efforts of two great-granddaughters of John Locke.
Despite their best efforts, however, the stills were finally forced to go cold in That was until March when, 53 years to the day, the old, refurbished 19th century still was brought back to life and distilling was once again resumed at Kilbeggan.
